Lefty

Hi,

Damaged my 79 this morning. Minor body damage, front wheels in opposite directions, rear suspension needs a bit more than an alignment.  Oh and the car won't start?

The suspension repair seems to be the big Peice for rectification. The body can be done after the engine gets running again?

Any recommendations on repairer , or repairers?

Obviously keen to get this going again?

Many thanks

Jesus Lefty what happened?  It will depend on how the chassis is as far as which repairer.  Can you give us more info

Camo,
Yes given the hit, possibly some chassis damage, I didn't look to far, I have some photos but cannot reduce file size on the ipad to get them on the post. Unless you know  how to.

Cheers,

Don't know of anyone over that way.  I'm sure one of the lads will jump in later and come up with someone who can help

You OK?

Could have been worse, I'm good, no other cars involved, just a very second hand vette and some kerbing to repair.

Thought that may have been the case.  I'm guessing you've broken a half shaft or the like at the back and by the looks of the front and ya drag link... I'd say possibly your pitman and idler arms.  Bit hard to tell from the shots

If you want to, email me the full size shots and I can load them up in a bigger size so we can see better

Oh bugger, that hurts Lefty.  :banghead:
There maybe a bent trailing arm along with everything that's connected to it at the rear, plus front lowered control arm to add to the list.

I guess that's why we pay for insurance.

Interesting to know exactly what has failed here
Imagin if it had happened at highway speed

There is a good deal of damage under there
Looking on the bright side
Walking away after this is a plus.
The results could have been so different
