steering question

MADLT1

hi guys,i just replaced my idler arm on my 71,now the car pulls to the left?is this normal until the part wears in?the old one had play due to worn bushs,the new one is tight as,any tips?:ado:

No !
Check the dimensions are the same as the old one.
If it's correct, you need a wheel alignment.

Replaced mine as part of the suspension work and did not encounter anything like that.

With larger wheels/Tires the wander can be dialed out with caster adjustments (More rear vs front Shims).

may be alignment but what was it like before.

If car has original ram power steering it probably needs the valve readjusted to nuetral/centre position

If RHD, the pitman arm and idler arm should be at the same height.  My 77 had a dodgy conversion where they bolted the idler arm 2 inches higher than it should have been!

thanks for all the input guys,i took the vet for a drive today and did a lot of turning with it and it has free.d up.strange but it steers straight now,must have needed freeing up,cheers
