leaking th350

hi all
 i have oil leaking out of where the kick down cable goes into the gearbox, i have already cleaned both surfaces and silastic it together to seal it but oil still comes out, is there a trick to this? does it need a gasket or o-ring ? any help would be appreciated.

From memory it should have an o ring.  I think there were some that had a rubber sleeve type but if your end has a groove in it it will be an o ring type.
