On Nov. 3, 1911 in a factory in Detroit, car manufacturer Chevrolet was born.
Chevrolet (aka Chevy) is a line of motor vehicles from General Motors (GM). The original company was founded by Loius Chevrolet and William Durant in 1911; it was then acquired by GM in 1917. Headquarted in Detroit, Michigan, Chevrolet offers a full range of vechicles, from the Chevy Aveo to medium duty commercial trucks. Chevy made the first fuel injected car in 1957 and boasts the longest-produced engine in the world, the Chevy Small Block V-8.
"Chevy," the company has created more than

Chevy began its company producing cars such as the 1914 Chevrolet Royal Mail Roadster and the 1936 Chevrolet Suburban. Cars were less than $500 then.
As the years went on, Chevy produced, the company started producing trucks in 1948.
The company unveiled the Corvette in 1952 and dominated the U.S. sports car market over the next few decades.
Of course, the company has also had some major rough patches. Parent company General Motors filed for bankruptcy in June 2009 as the entire U.S. auto industry hit the skids. But while GM discontinued or sold some brands, Chevy emerged strong. Today, the carmaker's vehicles are sold in every major market.
To connect with fans globally, Chevrolet launched its interactive
Chevy100.com website earlier this year and recently added two interactive web experiences: "The Road We're On" and "The Ride of Your Life." In addition, Chevrolet asked its fans on Twitter to post questions that Alan Batey, vice president, Chevrolet sales, service and marketing, will/did answer Thursday on the Chevrolet
