Scratched windows

Does anybody know how to remove scratches from glass. The door windows of my Corvette have some scratches on the surface. Rather than buy new windows I thought surely there is a way to remove the scratches by light buffing?

I didn't think you could polish side window glass as it is tougher than the front screen.  I've had success with the front glass but not with the sides.
