Wouldn't mind you thoughts on this, of the C3 years 68-72, the small block was offered in 2 configurations, the general base 327, and a more powerful option whats the difference between the two in setup and performance?

Does I matter,  45 year old spec don't hold up with today's engines .
With modern heads , piston ring combination all those old spec go out the window.
Fit some new components & heads to your old iron and the HP will climb

I have seen too many instances where people continue to pursue wrong courses of action because they do not take the time to think critically about what has happened in the past.''

Kind of figured that, but it does to me if I want to buy one.  Just curious to know what the difference is between the two i.e.: cams, valves, pistons.  Just for plain old curiosity, don't want to kill any cats.
