Hi

My accelerator/throttle cable snapped.   The car was converted by Queensland Corvette in the early 90's and when I called them up (Now Performax) they said that they think they used a commodore cable.

Fair enough, looking at different types of commodore cables they look similar, and even have the same foam piece in the middle.  I can't find a new replacement though as none of the lengths match.

Does anyone have any idea where I can find a new cable? My housing measures around 160cm and the total cable length is 175cm.

Cheers!

Surely these woud be available from one of the big outlets in the U.S. C/Central, C/America, ZIP etc. I'd be interested when you find out as my 87 is close to replacement. I see you have yours out, mine was converted by the same mob, and it looks like one of those jobs where you start by jacking up the car and removing all 4 wheels etc etc etc. Oh! Since they are modified, the length would now be - arbitrary, ie what ever fits the bill, will work fine. Best of luck!.

Commodore or Ford  V8 all fairly  similar Rare spares would be worth a try they have both listed. On my 78 I used a WB statesman v8 cable.Last one I bought off ebay for my 79 is a bit long though from memory about 1.5 metres long. Maybee a trip to wreckers with a tape measure

The problem with ordering from the states is the length, they are all too short...  My total cable is 175cm long.

I am going to try and ask a holden dealer what car matches the size I currently have, let you guys know!

good luck with that !
take your existing cable to a wrecking yard, I used a cable from a VL 6 cylinder on my 3rd gen Camaro with tpi !
a decent push bike shop can make up cables to suit, I had the cable for my Monza made by a mechanical workshop in Wollongong, think outside of the box

Just get one made.  I got a trailer shop to do mine.

There is a mob over St Mary's way up aound the corner from the range, he does all manner of speedo cable, made to measure. Ergo he can do an accelorater cable.

You could also try Terry Bebbington from http://bebco.com.au

They supply all parts for Holdens and also make custom cables.
