I received a private message in the US Corvette forum that reads:

---

Hello Stephen,

I just joined the forum after getting my 'new' 2007 Z51 MZ6 Corvette and love it. I have noted with great interest the C6 RHD Corvettes mandated by the Australian government and would love to see one. I will be in Sydney August 19 until the 22nd.

I searched the forum and could not find any places in Sydney that might have a car show. If you can help direct me to a show or an RHD Corvette, I will be very thankful.

Best regards from Mercersburg, PA, Bill

Can anyone help in this regard?

hi StephenSLR, you might want to let Bill know that the Council of Motor Clubs annual display day will be held on Sunday August 19th at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek. NSW Corvettes Club will be represented by up to 30 Corvettes.

They think they do a good jod at the conversion in the US but there are  horror stories about cars imported RHD already not being anywhere near Australian standards. They have to pull it apart and do it again. and do I have to say it, RAWS.

I would rather have it converterd locally and be sure it was registerable

c5vette

Yes well they can't be any worse than some Australian RAWS Converters who i have had converted my cars in the past
Horror Stories are right.

Ah, so he wants to sell US converted RHD to the Aussies?

Probably cheaper to get it done in an Asian country, there's a mob in the Philippines restoring Mustangs and they'll build you one RHD if you want. It's run by an Aussie I think.

Yeah I think the going rate is about $60-$70k and that includes the conversion.

I don't think the yanks need inspiration to work out how to do a RHD conversion
There are already companies doing it in the US
When it comes to coversions here the limited number of cars being done drives the cost up
But  40k to 65k is madnes
