Old red carpet has to go:

Starting from the back:

Found a hole to fix first, SC thank you for your help, I will see you on Saturday to fill this up:

While the carpet was out I decided to do a little more upgrade, full (sick) new stereo system will be going in:

Insulation first. Hope it cuts down the heat and outside noise. But I think my neighbours will be happy if the noise stays inside the car too....

Some of the system that will be going in.

Once this project is finished, May have to speak (beg to my wife) for an engine upgrade to pull all this system along, just that little bit better.

SPECS:
Deck - Pioneer 7850BT
Fronts - Pioneer ...... Unsure. Depends what I can place, or get to put into the dash.
Rears - Pioneer TSD161S
iPod Adapter - Pioneer CDIB100-2
Subwoofers - TWO Kicker S8L7 Still to be ordered from the US. But starting to build the boxes anyway....
4Ch Amp - Audiobahn DUB 5004
2Ch Amp - Audiobahn DUB 8001
and a heap of wiring.....

This is just for starters. Once the hole in the fibreglass is fixed, the car goes taken off the road for a little while, so I can complete the carpet replacement and wire running for the stereo.

I will try to keep you all up to date as work progresses. I am really looking forward to hearing what this system sounds like.

Taking to centre console out was a challenge...

But once out, the carpet came out very easily.

Now it is time to start again on the insulation :}

Mind you, I still need to take the desh pad off to get to the front speakers. Not really looking forward to that...;30

Cam,
Yes, the dash will be fun to put back together. Just hope to find, while it is apart, why my vents are not blowing much air into the car. I think the kickers cost me about $420Aust.

So how'd you go RJ?  Did you get the head unit in and wiring done?

If so, how does it sound?
"Life's tough.  It's tougher when you're stupid"

RJ7868

Head unit, ipod adapter, two Amps, two sub woofers and rear speakers are wired and sounding great. Had to find two speakers that would fit into the dash pad. I have these now. The dash pad and front speakers will be all connected this afternoon. I have to turn the Amps with all the speakers attached and fitted.

Insulation 100% complete.

Now comes the fun bit. Putting it all back together with new black carpet. Just hope that the carpet will want to go where I want it to.

VO, in short, so far when I turn it up I can feel my hair move..........;41 I love it. Can't wait to go for a drive with the new sound and insulation. I should not be able to hear anything outside any more.........;55
