Looking to buy this C3....but

Hey guys,
Some of you already know that I am in the market for another C3. I had a look at a one last Thursday night 80 vette...Unfortunately it was night time and I could not see the car properly and since I had a flight the next day I could not see it in the daylight, But before I want see it again I would like to ask you the following :

I am not really fussed too much about the exterior of the car but I am really concerned about the chassis as I am planning to build some special engine in it...

Do you see anything abnormal in the chasis part? If you look carefully there is a kind of line right in the middle of it? Is that normal?

NB: Thanks Matt for offering to come all the way from Wollongong to have a look at the car but will let you know this week as I am planning to see it during the day cheers again!

Cant tell for certain but it only looks like surface rust? which is easy to remove! The line is just a weld line which is normal, well mine has it to and so should yours? As long as you cant see any pin holes or pitting or scaleing (just give it a prod when he's not looking with a screw driver!). Ask which state the car came from! If its from a snowy state then it might be worth a further inspection. BUT that doesnt mean a California or desert state car doesnt have rust, mine had rust in the pillars! It was a California car!

Would have to agree with 69DR, i also think its a weld mark for the subframe...

Hey, are you going to the dark side... and building yourself a Rat Vette?

Or just a small block to blow em all away?

Also I have a red Dash Pad cover you may be interested in. Steve B said that you were after one and he was having trouble getting the right colour red. He said that the one I had from whem by beast was red would be a good match for you Vette. It's yours if ya want it.
