Perhaps you just need to get somewhere in a hurry… Well, if any of these are true, we’ve got just the eBay auction for you –
Rod Saboury’s 2600 horsepower twin turbo Corvette.Back in 2003, Saboury started off with an $800 bare body which was stretched and widened, then dropped on to a chromoly twin frame rail chassis. Originally, the car was equipped with a 400 cubic inch small block Chevy with twin 88mm turbos good for “only” 2,200 horsepower, but the car as currently presented for sale has a billet 427 built by Mike Moran.
With the bump in displacement, the combination now delivers a claimed 2,600 horsepower and 1,700 pound-feet of torque; more than enough to merge safely onto the freeway, we’d say.
Saboury has put roughly 4,500 miles on the car since it was completed, and as you can see from the photos, the car actually is registered and drivable on the street. Just think of all the money you’d save by not having to buy a truck and trailer to get your Corvette back and forth to the racetrack and car shows!
That alone makes the $675,000 “Buy it Now” price a bargain, but keep in mind you’ll be getting an estimated 10-15 MPG on pump gas, so be sure to budget for those fill-ups as well.
In all seriousness, this is one unique Corvette, and with a best pass of 6.75 at 209.96 MPH, you’ll definitely be the king of grudge night at your local dragstrip, in addition to stealing all the attention at cruise night.
