As above, anything looks good on TV or in a photo.
It takes time, money, research and alot of patience to buy a good corvette from the US
It took me over a year and around 15 inspections, but I finally found a car that was actually "as described"
In my experience, US car dealers are way overpriced or just selling junk and private sellers more honest in general.
But in all cases "buyer beware" and get it inspected ![/quote]
You are correct! The mustang i bought a few years back was from a private seller. much better than a shop. much mor honest, but you have to know what you are looking at. dont trust anyone!!!
I bought this corvette from a dealer, but, it was a consignment car. I spoke with the owner who had the car for 22 years and he had all the paperwork and receipts to prove it.
I think I bought a good one.
I veiwed lots of corvettes that were in great shape, but a matching numbers one IS hard to find.
One guy told me he had a matching numbers car, so i drove accross LA (2 hrs on the 405) to take a look. Yes it was in origonal condition, but matching numbers, well, there were NO numbers on the block at all!! nothing worked and the paint looked nothing like the add.
Man I feel sorry for the guy who will proberbly buy this car site unseen on ebay.
I have bought many cars (and bikes) from the USA, and I think I bought a good car at a very good price!
