Here is a video that will make you feel good about owning a Corvette. This modified supercharged Z06 with 700 horsepower lines up against Sweden’s Koenigsegg CCXR with just over 1,000 horsepower for a 1-mile drag race. Both cars seemingy get off to a slow start thanks to a bunch a wheel spin, but the Z06 finds traction first, jumps out in the lead and never looks back.

The comments regarding the video on autoblog and Youtube are predictable: Z06 owner sandbagging hp, both drivers suck with quarter mile times in the twelves, Vettes can only go fast in a straight line, etc. But that’s racing. Exotic sports cars with huge horsepower numbers are great for bragging, but unless you know how to tap its power correctly, you’re going to get wheel spin and second place.
