Where is the Tone Generator in an '84
« on: June 03, 2011, 10:59:54 PM »
To all the gurus out there, does anyone know where the Tone Generator may be located? And/or what does it look like?

My 1984 has just started thinking that when the lights are on and driving along, it thinks I have left the lights on and the engine has been turned off.

The constant "ding, ding, ding, ding" is driving me mad.

:mad::mad::mad:

The only way away from the noise is turning the volume up and up on the stereo.

Check this out RJ  http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129703

Also this http://members.shaw.ca/agent86/Chimes.pdf

And this for an 86  http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/JHoop/2008-03-01_004716_Pages_from_vette_components.pdf  (No pictures included but the words describe location)

Basically they all seem to refer to a blown fuse, in the fuse panel, for the gauges.  But I suggest that you read all the above links

Not as yet. I need to find some time away from work and do this. I WILL let you know, if I fix it and what I found, as I know one other Corvette owner with the same issue.

Thank you for your help.
