Hello All
Does any one have any experience with  this conversion
I am looking at fitting C4 suspension under my C3.

I am also looking for a good set of drawings  of a C4  chassis
showing at all three elevation

I hope to get  some positive input

72VET has recently done that conversion. I'm sure he'll chime in when he reads your post.

77CVT:
Dave Kelly up here on the Gold Coast has done this too.  I'm sure he would be a wealth of info.  You can contact him here.

Hi Bfit

Yep, purchased an aftermarket set up from VB&P for the front-end http://www.vbandp.com/C2-C3-Corvettes/Suspension-Products/Systems/Transverse-Composite-Monospring-Kit-1963-82.html  at the time the price was a lot less than what their asking now, purchased the upper tubular arms as well. Installation was simple, bolt off and on.

The positives -
Ride height is adjustable along with the spring rate.

Negatives –
You lose a bit of ground clearance with this set up.
Shock length is shortened due to the design of the new lower arms (which they don’t mention:grr:) As there’s no need for the spring saddle on the lower arm the plate for the shock mount is flush with the arms so you lose about 1 ½ inches of travel. I haven’t resolved that problem yet. :bang:

Noticed that wabco40 also has the same set up on his car.

I have the same set up as 72vet. I purchased it about 6 years ago and even back then it was a proven product. However I am still yet to drive the car with this set up.

If I had found I had a rusted or damaged chassis when I started the rebuild then I would have purchased a Street Shop Inc C3 chassis.
I have spoken to their rep and seen the quality of their chassis. They available from bare frame to complete rollers with your choice of engine/tranny mounts.
There not cheap, the prices several years ago where 9 to 15 grand. With the dollar the way it is at the moment the prices are not to bad.
