We were cruisng the net and came across this beasty. Not sure when it was posted, but who cares. We could tell you how it makes us warm blooded mail corvette loving males feel, but then we would have to ban ourselves off the forum
"This car started out as an original 1959 Corvette. It was in the works off and on for over 8 years. The car rides on a modified original frame, since there were few if any really good aftermarket chassis at the time the car was begun. It is modified with narrowed rear rails and a fully chromed Dutchman IRS with a 3.50 rear gear and a fully chromed Jim Meyers IFS with a Cobra R&P. Wilwood brakes are used and are non-power.
The engine is a Motown 427 inch SBC with custom fuel injection built by Bob at Imaging Injection. The engine was formerly a full race engine which had seen service on the track but has been de-tuned slightly for the street. MSD takes care of the ignition duties and a Haltech Engine Management System takes care of everything else. A Tremec 5 speed handles the gear changes. There are many more features under the car including a hand fabricated exhaust system and fuel tank.
The body of the car has seen a few modifications along the way. The entire trunk area as well as rear wheel wells and fuel tank area were removed and rebuilt in fiberglass to accommodate the IRS and large tires. The fuel tank area now is filled with all the electronics that would usually be found under the dash. The only thing under the dash now is some minimal wiring and the Vintage Air heater system.
Classic Instruments built the gauges for this car and are back-lit with LED's. A Pioneer sound system provides the tunes while Al Knoch seats covered in custom leather provides the comfort. Wool carpet was used throughout.
The car is a monster to drive with more motor available than the car can really put to use and the sound is wicked. So it's great! And the chassis gives a nice solid but very comfortable ride quality. It's really a great car. Soon to be finished is the hard top and some final tuning as well as installation of an electric lift for the hood.
