Unfortunately I have had a few set backs regarding this run which I will list below.

•   Port Macquarie Hastings Council are now on a money grab because of the much   publicized Glasshouse being built, causing the council to be broke and administrators taking over.
•   Last year the use of Westport Park was free to our club, this year it will cost $400 + a $2000 security fee.
•   The Carnival of the Pines has been canceled this year because of the same money grabbing attitude of the council towards fee’s etc.

My question to the club and possible attendees, should I still go-ahead.

My current standing is as below:

Friday: meet and great (at new restaurant at the Observatory)

Saturday: Drive Day (Long Flat, Gingers Creek)

Saturday Night: Port Macquarie Bowling club private room.

Sunday: Beach cruise, taking in some local attractions and lunch.

Monday: Breakfast and goodbye’s.

Please email me with your thoughts if I should still go ahead.

Mick,

I’m in for the weekend away. The show n shine -  who cares? We had a great time last year & are looking forward to this one.

Perhaps a local club with plenty of parking could accommodate us for the display, if not it’s the weekend away with a bunch of Vette and Muscle car Enthusiasts that matters.

Go for it!  :drag:

Hi Mick,

Gary & I are in for the week-end also, and like 72VET don't care much about Show 'n' Shine we're looking forward to a great week-end away.

As my vette will be off the road for this event I will be on my bike with the "bikers" on the saturday. If anyone wishes to ride they are most welcome and I can put you in contact with the "bikers" to go up earlier with them.

Dont forget if you have a mate with a muscle car of any type(new or old) they are most welcome to come along. The more different cars to see and hear = a more enjoyable weekend.

Just heard that the section of highway between Taree and Port Macquarie will be finished by the end of August.

This means other than Buladelah Township, 4 lanes all the way up here which is great news!!!!

12 booked in ...... as I dont have enough bookings to break even, I am happy to take late entries.

also I hear the Observatory is booked out, so sandcastle apartments are next door and one unit even has a locking garage.

no worries 72vet, everyone that is coming automatically gets one as part of the entry fee.

any left over will be for sale over the weekend @ $9ea.

All monies left over after costs are recovered will go towards an afternoon picnic at towns beach opposite the observatory on Sunday.

this year there will be 4 trophies again voted for by the entrants

the catergories are:

Modern American Muscle Car
Modern Australian Muscle Car
Classic American Muscle Car
Classic Australian Muscle Car

The photo above gives a good idea of what this years trophies look like.
