Updating gearbox

;30I'm thinking "Maybe a 5-speed would be nice in my C3 chromie",  and  so I will open Pandoras box for ideas.
I have looked at Tremec (USA) & made superficial enquiries at Dellows in Sydney but as yet am undecided.  I have a perfectly good Muncie 4speed behind a mild 350 but on a recent trip out to Tamworth, I would have liked longer legs on the back roads.  Yeah, for me & the car too.  I am open to suggestions & experiences with the various boxes out there.
Thanks ..PK;45

GoldDigger,

I have a Tremec TKO600 from Classic Chevy 5-Speed in the USA. And I must say they were a pleasure to deal with!

None of the USA suppliers would separate the slip yoke/drive shaft, rear mount adaptor etc etc from the transmission; so as to source locally.

CC5S would at least provide it [the kit] with a standard shifter position. So I will have the gear shift closer to the driver [RHD].

The Aussie Dollar was a bit better when I made the purchase!

At the time I got mine it was cheaper to get it with everything [new] from the States than to purchase a recond TKO600 here!!

Work that out!!

;53Cheers
