Registering a LHD Vehicle in NSW
« on: December 03, 2008, 02:14:00 PM »
Last night, in the preamble before the meeting, I was discussing the process involved in getting a car Registered with a few of the blokes. It looks like I now have to eat my words. Glad my name's not Bart, I'd be eating my shorts.

When I first took my LHD '75 to the Blue Slip guy, he advised that I would have to get it Engineered before he'd issue the relevant papers.

I went back to the same guy today to book in for a second attempt at Inspection. This time he said "I think it won't have to be Engineered because it hasn't been converted to RHD" same guy, different day, different opinion!

I went home and spent some time going through the RTA web site (what a mine field) and came up with the document shown below.

So, it looks like Engineering is not required, providing the car meets the ADR's relevent at the time. How do you do this? Not sure at the moment.

Hope this is of some assistance.
