Ok, so the lame excuses are starting to come out.
One reckons his brakes aren't up to it, and onother reckons his Mrs is due on the day.
C'mon there have got to be better excuses than these;38

Hey Madvet have you got that road block going yet for the mighty corvette challenge.Or do you have to bring the mighty boy out?(it would most probably be faster).
Now i dont want any of these crappy excuses like the last few times that you took it to the track like i've blown the motor up and i've smashed the gearbox so i have to pack up and finish for the day.Get a bit HARD ARSE,Re build in the pits and bring it back out in the afternoon for some more laps i just dont think you are trying.
It is quit clear that if you keep this kind of behaviour up that you will have to join the porsche club because you will turn into one of these w*%nkers that owns a car to sit at a show and shine or be seen driving through the Manly beaches and thats only what porsche w*%kers would do.
So if you want to stay hanging out with the guys that drive real muscle cars hard because that is what they are built for then stop faking engine blow ups(A rod out the side of the block doesnt mean you have to park it for the day. YOU ARE JUST SOFT)You just have to harden up.
NO MORE EXCUSES MADVET...........PERFORM OR SELL THE VETTE AND BUY A PRETTY BOYS CAR.

To ZEDohSIX I was planning to leave at around 3pm for a leisurely drive down as I'll be trailering the yellow beast down.(saving on tow trucks for the trip back!!)

and 69DIRTY RAT, I reckon Boshy could nip home for a check in at lunchtime if he's that concerned.
Canberra's only 20 minutes down the track isn't it? ;43

No excuses from me Boschvette, I will be there even if i have to push the Vette along the highway in a hail storm to get it there. I WILL BE THERE! and I'll be using my car exactly the way Dave McLellan had designed and engineered it to be used.
As far as posing on Manly beaches are concerned,well..., i'll leave that to the C3 owners.(Seinfield voice on) "Not that there's anything wrong with that.";53

The problem is Boschie just wont be able to nip home.

For the average Vette driver it might be 20min and to the average layman it would be about an hour but for Boschie this is a 4 hour trip.

3 hours to remove the distributor and intake manifold and replace the inlet gaskets, reinstall the manifold and dissy and set the timing.
1 hour to drive home leaving behind a James Bond style smoke screen.;56;56

On a serious note guys,

I have been informed by our Pres that we have reached our quota of 60 entrants for Sunday’s event. Yeeeha ;35

Just a reminder,

All cars will be scrutinised before we start. If your car does not comply with the regulations below you may not be able to participate.

Vehicle requirements

Please note, in order to run a safe day and comply with regulations all cars participating will be scrutinized to ensure they comply with the following:

•   All vehicles must be fitted with at least two (2) independent fastening systems, of adequate strength and limited extensibility, which simultaneously hold the bonnet or panels closed. Bodily unmodified production cars manufactured after 1 January, 1973, and other cars which are fitted with Front Hinged Bonnets may utilise the original, unmodified manufacturer’s component for closing the bonnet, without the use of a secondary restraint mechanism.

•   Drivers of all open cars must wear eye protection to AS 1609 - 1981.
•   All loose objects must be removed from the vehicle.
•   A speed limit of 10Kph will apply in the pits, paddock and spectator areas.
•   A coolant overflow catch can must be attached to all vehicles.
•   All vehicles with treaded street tyres must have at least the minimal legal tread depth.
•      No oil leaks on vehicle.
•   Inappropriate behavior or instances of any of the above may result in exclusion from the event and the Stewards may take further action.
•   All vehicles must be fitted with an effective muffler which diminishes the sound of the engines exhaust.  The muffler must be so constructed that the maximum vehicle noise emitted does not exceed 95dB(A) measured at a point 30 metres from the track edge by approved measuring equipment.
•   All drivers will be required to wear suitable non-flammable clothing covering all limbs, closed leather shoes, a helmet complying with the Australian Standard (e.g. AS 1698) and a seat belt or safety harness.

So lets have a great weekend. ;54
