New Vette

Scott:
From what I can work out:

The overall tyre diameter can't change by more than 15mm, and the maximum rim diameter can't be more than 2 inches greater than stock, which is 17's for a vette.  I think a lot of people break this law though. In Qld you can't get rims engineered so you just have to bank on not getting picked up...

Still 18's look very nice and I'm keen to get a set similar to demonx's on my 73 ;-)

I got mine from texas. Good price too. from memory they were about US$1300 Shipping was US$500 ish though and then I got stung with $640 tax when they landed cause the tire place didn't follow my request for sending them in two separate shipments.

17x8 I was quoted just over US$900 except I reckon the 18" looks so much better than the 17". Especially once I put them on the car I knew I made the right choice and the extra cash was worth it!

TIRES are the f'n expensive part. More than the wheels. You can expect to pay $400 - $600 each for decent  245/45/18 tires. Mine are Bridgestone S03 pole positions.
