2005 Mallett Hammer 001
This is a custom car from Chuck Mallett. The car is a one of a kind, there are no others like it. In 2005 when Chevrolet went from the C5 to the new body style C6 this was the first car to go to public consumption, hence the 0651 of the VIN. The first 650 cars of the C6 run stayed for testing, crashing, racing and the 0651 car was the first to go to a dealership. Chuck Mallett picked the car up from the factory and brought it to the National Corvette Museum where it received it's 001 badge plate displayed on the rear deck window on both sides of the car. The car has been on the cover of Corvette Magazine and in many major auto shows for the past two years. It was seen at the SEMA show after it participated in the infamous Bull Run Rally in 2006. It has been at major auto shows through out the USA, most notably the NY International Auto Show. It is also featured in a video collection called Super Speeders.
The car is tuned very mildly right now and is producing just under 900RWHP. The current tune was used during the Bull Run Rally and is based on 91 pump gas. There is much more HP to be had out of this beast depending on how you'd care to have it tuned. It's top speed is well over 215MPH. There is no other Corvette like this one. The car was sold to Chuck Mallett from Les Stanford Chevrolet in Dearborn, MI and then went to Berea, OH to Chuck's shop for final assembly.
