Brutus,

If by later model you mean 80's I may be able to help. As you know mine's a 74 with 82 seats but you may not know (and that's a big call you know most else), the 82 seats are taller then pre 80's. In order to fit them to mine, the floor pan had to be dropped an inch and a half.

As for availability, unless you can pick them up locally, I'd suggest the best value place to get them from would be J&D Corvettes. They'd have them second hand in pretty good condition and I'd say you're planning to re upholster anyway so color won't matter.

Good luck!

Thanks for that info A. I'll try and keep to the slightly earlier ones then. Although I do plan on altering my foot well while the engine is out, I wasn't looking to do that much work on the floor. I do believe that the seats can be sourced from somewhere in Vic so I'll have to wait for Chris to get back and ask him.

My understanding is any C3 seat will fit.  If you want elecrtics then you will have to drop the floor.  A C4 seat will fit but needs a little adapting to the C3 rails - you will not be able to keep the electrics!

The C4 seat sits a little more upright but with a little ingenuity you can fit them so they lean back a little.  I don't think there is much difference between late C3 and C4 seats comfort wise.
