Just some of the cars.....
« on: January 13, 2008, 08:56:13 PM »
Glen Jennings the President of the American Icons Auto Club, here in Newcastle, Glen is also a member of NSW Corvettes Unlimited.

Glen would like to invite all our Corvettte club members to join them at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Sunday Feb 17th for their inaugural, All American Auto Show. This is a full charity show with ALL proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House.

Many of their club cars will be making their debut showings, and there are some specials amongst them.

If our club would like a block section to showcase our members cars and put up your club banners, they are happy to accommodate or alternatively just drive in and they will park us in the next available space. We encourage all American car enthusiasts to join us..and best yet, its free entry for all club and display cars, so get the crew together and drive down and make a day of it.

After speaking with the northern people today, I have a confirmed 6 cars able to be at this event. It would be great to see more cars from the south to come up to this event.

Lets make it a run day, and all have a great time.

Please contact myself if you believe you will be able to make this event and help show the NSW Corvettes Unlimited flag.

Parking inside will be available, if we get there early, and drip trays are required.

Please bring your drip trays for your cars.

Thank you.

There were about 120 cars on the day, event organisers told me that the numbers may have been down due to the weather in the morning. (Just a little wet) ask Vette Obsessed how his drive up from Sydney was.....

But, by 9am the skys were clearing letting the spectators flood through the gates. Spectators paid $2 entry and the amount of people there all day, the amount raised for the Ronald McDonald House will be a great donation.

What a great day, catching up with friends and making new ones. A lot of very nice machines.

I would like to thank Glen Jennings, the President of the American Icons Auto Club, in Newcastle, for the invitation to this event.

I did the run up, hung around for a gander at the cars and a dubious hot dog, then headed back to Sydney about 11 am, and it rained all the way back.

Making a special guest appearance at the event was Kostya Tszyu who drove there in his Bentley, not his Vette ;50
