Hand Brake

1976 hand brake, release button has come off.
looks like there was a form of thread inside the button but now has stripped.
does anyone know if i can replace/repair the button or does the whole hand brake need to be replaced?

I have a c3 handbrake lever complete spare the black grip was split you may be able to mix parts to make 1 good one
