I am thinking of buying the intake manifold as described below, but I am a bit worried about the statment regarding the damaged heat shield on the bottom, I do not understand this as I think the bottom of the intake is a machined surface and must be perfect.

This auction if for a used original iron intake #353015 dated H18 72 for early 73 model Corvette LS4 454 engines.  This is an oval port intake made for a quadrajet carb.  This same engine and intake was also in the Chevelle and Monte Carlo of 1973.  If your looking for the correct numbers for your restored Corvette Chevelle or Monte Carlo, this is a good one.  It has been bead blasted and painted with high heat Chevy orange paint.   It has very clear numbers and date code.  The only damage I find is a ding in the metal heat shield on the bottom of the intake where someone must have dropped it.  If that is a problem you could drill out the rivets straighten it out and reinstall with screws and loctite.  The threads are good, the ports are unmodified and the mounting flanges are good.  This is bolt on and go ready if you want.  Get one for your car while it is still available and cheap...NO RESERVE AUCTION..

I have a block off plate and gasket to cover the EGR port if you prefer to use this manifold without EGR, your choice.  The plate and gasket will be included in the sale though it is not in the picture.
