Do we only pay GST now on imported stuff?  Or does Customs duty still apply?

Hi 77CVT;42
Yes we still do pay duty/taxes
1/ If goods/freight is $1,000.00 or more Australian otherwise it is free
2/ Parts are not for a vintage vehicle (30 years old or older)
3/ I believe that by 2012 there will be no duty only G.S.T.
4/ Vintage is 3% or free depending upon the part
5/ Non vintage is 15% or less depending upon the part
6/ Even though you got the part from the USA it has to be made in the USA as well.
Hope this helps:spook
