Mr 502 should be able to help you out there when he comes back on line.  He just bought one over.  I THINK he said about $3,000 landed in Qld.  But I'll stand corrected on this.

I brought a C3 back and got it delivered from CA to Syd for $2950 shipping.

This included crating and packing the vehicle in a 20' container.

Then once landed here you will have to pay cleaning, quarantine and 10% gst on the buy price of the vehicle.
The costs above excl the 10% came to about $250

About 6 weeks for delivery.

Thats all.

If you decide to bring something back and you want to include other parts, just make sure that they are packed in the car. I had some loose items that arrived at the container yard seperately to the car, and one part decided to go walking which cost me about $650 extra. Luckily I got the shipping for free.

When I bought my vette in I was told that packing stuff into cars is not advisable,it attracts alot more attention??? They may have to inspect those items and drag them out the car, which can lead to damaged to both the items and the car.

HI
I JUST IMPORTED A 74 VETT. IT JUST LANDED IN BRISBANE,UNPACKED ON THURSDAY. COST WISE TO IMPORT  WAS $3400 ON THE FAST SHIP,WHICH TOOK JUST UNDER 4 WEEKS TO ARRIVE ONCE IT WAS ON THE WATER. OR THE SLOWER BOAT TAKES 6 WEEKS AND THAT COSTS $2950. YOU PAY GST ON THE PURCHASE PRICE AND SHIPPING COMBINED.I USED CALIFORNIAN IMAGE THEY WERE FANTASTIC THEY TOOK CARE OF EVERYTHING FOR ME FROM PICKUP IN FLORIDA TO THERE DEPOT IN LA THEN TO BRISBANE, THE CAR LANDED WITH NOT A SCRATCH ON IT NOTHING MISSING FROM IT.IT WAS EXACTLY HOW IT WAS WHEN IT LEFT FLORIDA.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CALIFORNIAN IMAGE(PH 07 38882088) THIS WAS MY FIRST IMPORT AND THEY MADE IT EASY I HAD TO DO NOTHING. SHANE AND CINDY FROM CALIFORNIAN IMAGE WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL  WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

How was the experience?

Glenn,
For a local contact, you could try John Cain (he lives at Belmont). His son lives in the 'States and does all the 'Stateside stuff. Friend of mine imported a '74 through Cain about 12 months ago. All went OK with that one.
