if anyone reads this, I am diagnosing the issue we're having with linking pics to the forum. This should be deleted before you get a chance to reply anyway ....

Pic 1 - Using "Insert Image

It's not a cache issue .... the location of Pic 1 is on the net globally available to any browser. Once that browser loads the image it'll be placed in cache and subsequent view will be quicker.

Pic 2 - as above

Pic 3 - taken from a directory on my C drive and uploaded to the forum server. Again it's globally available and copied to cache to make subsequent loads faster.

There's no problem for me .... you try ... use the "Insert Image" method and "Insert hyperlink" on the same url.

Doesn't make sense, no one's loaded my images before I posted 'em and they're visible to all. As are Brutus's and the miriad we've been placing recently .... hmmm

Use the URL function this time .....

yes, I get forbidden too .... that pic is wild by the way, it looks like a tarantula ...

It is possible to set up restriction so that only traffic from certain areas enters your network. Redirected traffic, such as that from a forum could, theoretically be blocked but it's rare and the hosting co would have to be pretty paranoid about hackers .... try another link! again use Img and URL methods ...
