Our New Forum Changes
« on: December 07, 2006, 06:46:25 PM »
We have started our upgrades on our website and forum.  You may notice a little hick up here and there so please be patient.  But by all means let us know if you see a problem just in case we miss it.

This is our first bit of work.

What do reckon gang?  Like the new text size?  I can see, I can see.  Peter P and the team to the rescue once again.

I'll be keeping these boys busy for the next month or so.

Thanks guys ;35

Thanks Andy

So now down to the picture size as per our discussions at the club meeting.

I'm going to put up four different size pictures of the same subject matter in four seperate threads.

What I would like to know is which picture fits best on your screens.  By best I mean that you do not have to scroll from left to right to see the picture.

I'm going to lock the four threads so please post in THIS thread which picture is best or if you would like a bigger picture.  Remember the idea is that you do not have to scroll from left to right to see ALL the picture.

Please post replys in this thread

I reckon 640 x 480 is the ultimate size for the forum

So joe, when ya look at the pics on your computer screen, not your hand pilot, the 700 fits best without you scrolling from left to right?  If you can look at the pictures without scrolling from left to right, I need to know which is the biggest one that allows you to do this.

I found out that I have had MY screen settings set low.  So now we may be able to go bigger with the pics.  But I want a size that fits on the bulk of peoples screens

700 works for me.
I think you will find the width of a user's avatar also affects this.  When you, jolinari and a few others participate in a thread, your 197 and 200 wide avatars cut down the width availabe for photos.

In other words, if you limit avatars to 150 wide then you can allow for 750 wide photos, or 200 wide avatars allow for 700 wide photos.

Having said all that, I'm happy with the 200 + 700 format.

I had noticed that but I didn't want to have to go and check everyones avata at the moment.  Once I get this right I can then go check that as a sepaerate clean up and if I fix it it's a simple matter to change the pics.  I just want to get a unified starting point.

Good man for going that extra step.  All info helps.

Many Thanks

Damm.  What you got your settings at in your computer control panel?  I have mine down as low as 800 x 600 with a 17"monitor and 640 fits.

Just checked again.  I stand corrected.  Yep, your right.  640 does not fit on those settings. Change your settings to the next one up and ya should be fine.

They all fit very will on my screens. With Screen resolution of 1280x1020 on a 21" screen I would think everything should fit.....;30

I really do like the 700 pic. Loads nice and quick too.....:spook

Tesxt is too big - I'm not that old yet.

700 pic fits without a scroll bar at the bottom.

21" screen - you can fit anything on one of them!  ;-)
