Seeking pics of Club cars
« on: September 11, 2006, 11:24:05 AM »
Hi Folks,

I've been contacted by a group putting a calendar together who have asked for some pictures of Club cars whose owners may be interested in possibly having their car in the calendar.

I will be submitting a range of pics of club cars that I have but if anyone here is interested and has specific pics they would like to submit could you please forward them to me via email or CD so that I can forward them on.  If you are interested, the sooner any pics could be sent the better it would be.

Email pics to: a_lewandowski@hotmail.com

Any queries please give me a call on 0409 043 473.

Andrew

Last call.  To be honest I was a little underwhelmed with the response when this went up so I'm giving this thread a bump.

If you have any technical issues with sending photos let me know and I will do what I can to assist.

VO we have lots of pics in our gallery.  So gang, does anyone have any problems with us using their pics out of our gallery?

Why don't you pic some pics from the gallery VO, post them here and ask if the owners have any problems in you using them?

A suggestion from Jolinari about ideas and an only response was from me
was to make an annual calendar of our cars cars selected by ballot to be fare
was giving deaf ears by all.Now some outsiders ask for photos and I can see
why some members are a bit shy about it.I work in a printing position  and can
assist in obtaining contact for this to bare fruit.
There are times members need to be cautious about invitations even proofing approvals
need to be considered. Is there a problem doing our own calendar?????????????????

thank u and best wishes

I think our own annual calendar is a great idea- what stopping interested club members from getting together and doing some sort of photo shoot or getting appropriate photos and putting together a calendar for sale......?

We think the reluctance stems not from not wanting to but maybe from not knowing how to send pics from the computer.  During my time as Forum Administrator I have learnt that many are a little shy of the computer.  Hence we only have 60 club members that are registered on the forum.

Both VO and myself have been talking about this just recently and it's on our list of things to attend to.

If you would like to discuss this more let me know and I'll split this thread into two so that the theme of this thread does not go a stray.

I hear what you are saying coradict 72.  I can assure you the company that has approached me appears to be reputable from the discussions I have had with them, and the information and sample calendars I have been sent.

My personal opinion is that I have no problem with the concept of a club calendar.  Having said that, whether the club facilitiates this or actually initiates it is another matter that needs to be investigated.  Any undertaking by the club has to be financially sound and it also needs to be born in mind that we are primarily a social car club.

If you are able to provide contacts who may be particularly helpful we can investigate what is possible and feed that information back to everyone.

As an observation, the last time our club had a small quantity of Australian Corvette calendars as part of a group order with other Corvette clubs printed we did not sell them all, in actual fact we sold very few (this occurred a number of years ago).  In saying this I am not saying the present committee is not open to investigating the idea, but am trying to provide some background as to why it may not have been received as enthusiastically as wished in the past.

I do know that a few members have discussed the idea of this in the past and still have such a project in mind.

Look forward to talking about this with you soon.

I'll have to second Cam's thoughts there, I also suspect that many just plain overlooked the post when it was initially put up.  I've had a number of people email me pics today and/or express their approval for me to use pictures of their cars.

Hiya VO,

Part of the problem may be that the forum shows your email address as president@ which bounces but the web site shows your email address as pres@ which hasn't so far.

I've just resent all my pics to pres@.

Thats my fault.  I had the emails changed so as to reduce some of the spam we have been getting.

Andy, please go into your control panel on the forum and change your email to pres@nswcorvettes.com.au.

Sorry about that.
