Amazing that nobody has picked option C - the red basher.
Sure, its lovely to have a nice, fresh "restored" car, but the things you can do in a bashed up old car include
- driving it in the rain, sans top. It's fun, really it is. Until the water gets into the electrics, and the car becomes haunted.
- breaking down on the Pacific Highway, in the middle of Nowheresville, in the middle of the night, and just leaving it there.
- parking all day at the KMart
- sliding off the road (in the rain) into a small wooden pole and not caring too much about repairs, because the paint is crap anyways
- spilling drink/oil/hamburger etc on the interior
- tell people that "Yes, it really IS an old MG/Thunderbird/Benz"
- rebuild it. Yes, thats right. Actually DOING the car was (to me, at least) just as much fun as owning it, done.
