EXHAUST MANIFOLD

Cameron 77C3:
I'll call in and see them on the way to work tomorrow.

Cameron 77C3:
Reserved, no luck squire.  They think that the 712 is a Dow Corning product and they only stock Loctite.  Their high temp only goes to 316 Deg C.

We need to find what the temp rating of the 712 is.

I'll make some calls and see what I come up with.

No, dow corning don't have a 712 either.  You should have got a small block.;39

Cameron 77C3:
Ok I'm just waiting for some faxs to come in of the data sheets on some of these products.

I also made a call to Scott at Corvette Alterations.

He informed me that with his infrared thermometer gun pointed onto the exhaust manifold his gun goes off the scale and it goes to 500 deg C.

He informed me that if the surfaces are completely flat and smooth with no pits that the "no gasket" is the better option and if they are not flat, the gasket option is the way to go.  He also said to be sure that it is the metal type gasket.

This is only information that I am supplying for your consideration, it is not a recomendation.  It is in no way to say that any other information offerd in this thread is incorrect.

Once the data sheets on the silicones (silastics) come in I'll let you know what they have published.

Cameron 77C3:
Mr Reserved.  I have the data sheets on these products.  To much for me to put up here.  I'll bring them with me tonight.

Cam

Cameron 77C3:
Hey SC.  You said last night that you were going to check if that was 712 or 732.  Come on get your act together. ;48;43
