As a sorta outsider here.. How about getting the mindset WORKING REAL HARD now .. for NSW.. especially in the "lets make the little people happy promises" that can be brought in the run up to the State Elections...
Primarily for NSW.. but could easily spread....
Your Opinion helps.. your actions in wording intelligently and circulating petitions is a absolute MUST.. .. also intime for various large scale public events like Motorex due in a few weeks..
IS THIS WORTH MOVING ON NOW..??
(1) USA STYLE LICENSE PLATES BE PRODUCED & MADE AVAILABLE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST... TO ALLOW FOR CORRECT LEGAL FITMENT WITHOUT ALTERATION.. FOR THE THOUSANDS OF CARS PRODUCED IN THE USA AND REGISTERED IN THE STATE OF NSW.
This will avert any chance of miss reads by speed camera's and prevent the need to alter the sub-structure of the bumper.
(2) That NSW.. allow. for responsible registered insured car clubs.. the use of HISTORIC CLUB PLATES for vehicle BUILT PRIOR TO 1st Jan 1989, in line with the Federal Governments change to import laws for specialty vehicles. This includes LHD vehicles & RHD.
(3) That NSW RTA allow for the updating of rules governing LHD registration from its current 30 year rule to 20, inline with various other states. That those safety guidlines in place for the existing 30 year rule, as approved by the Stay Safe Committee & Industry Representatives in 1996/97 be envoked to cover this change.
That if this is seen as real possibility .. then a Multi Club "American Car Clubs Association" meeting be arranged with heads of clubs to get the thing going.. ..
