my  87 Convertible has the standard oversized 9.5 inch rims....  it currently has Toyo 255/50 SR 16 tires....it came with from the US.

does anyone have suggestions as to what tyres are available locally for these rims...

locally I have found Falken's ZE512 at $227 and Goodyears Eagle ZR for $350....

are there any other tyre brands available? ie in size 255/50SR16

Well, I have been procrastinating.... a lot.... and I do it so well....

and now when I do a local ring around for a 255/50-16 tyre to fit an 1987 Convertible OEM 16" x 9.5" wheel....  I am coming up empty-handed without going off-shore to the US

Does anyone know of anyone who supplies the above tyre... of any brand locally?

Oh and if you find yourself in my position and want to compare rolling diameters of two tyres of various wheel diameters.... this calculator is very handy from a US Miata (MX5) site..

Anyone sells Falkens - they are rubbish IMHO!!!!

I just imported 8 Sumitomo's - cost me $110 each landed!  So far I am very happy with them (compared to Falkens!)

77CVT, that sounds very cheap.  Who did you use for freight? Did the tyres come from the U.S.?
