Vettech:
Any more info, the filter, I assume is the Electrical filter (capacitor/condensor) on the input or power side (-12ve) of the tacho. !?...

AB_in_AUS:
The PO had removed the original tach filter. I have a replacement but it didn't come with connectors

I can source the connector which goes into the HEI distributor but an missing the other one

Thoughts?

Vettech:
Ok standard axial capacitor (also called a condensor) ~2uf 50v working(min) c/w screw mount hole. Those ends are utilux style auto crimp connectors, one is common, but the other is for inside a plastic pluggy thingo, try auto parts shops, jaycars, J.R.Turks or maybe .......... was going to say Altronics, but they have the female spade but not that type of flat male connector with the funny edge bit in their cattledog.

Vettech:
A bit late, but can I ask, R U having trouble with the Tacho.??

Sorry I've just been 2 v dentist and my brain is not on track.
Your capacitor is most likely an "inline feed thru" capacitor.
Basically its de-coupling any spurios noise on the tacho feed and shunts to earth.
Modern tacho's have this type of filtering inbuilt in the input circuitry.
