C5 Odometre Question

C5 (97~05) odometres - do they  read in Km's or like C1,2,3,4s which read in miles.

Are they electronic ?

In a C5 they can be switched electronically via the dash to read either in Metric or American units. This affects odometer, speedometer, temperature (A/C, radiator) and oil pressure displays.

So if I understand you, I could drive in US in miles and clock up 60Kmiles then I bring the car here, switch the switch to Metric and it now will read 100K km's.

Am I correct or ........
