1978 Factory A/C system for sale

Lefty:

RHT,
I also have a 78 and the AC doesn't work.
I wanted to get it fixed, but like your idea and also have RHD.
Overall what did it cost to fit the unit up?
And did you have a lot of fitting to get it done or was it an easy fit?
Cheers, lefty

See photos of the unit tucked up in the passengers side (left side as its a right hook car).
Leg room isn't affected as the unit is tucked up high in the foot well.
They used the controls that came with the unit as it wouldn't work with the original system.
Engine bay is cleaner without the evaporator and fan box in there.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Robert, it helps a lot.

The cost to install was around 4K. That was a drive in/drive out cost.
I removed all the factory parts and installed a new condenser as the generic kit didn't come with one.
The install looks quite easy now that I've seen one done.
My install wasn't great, had to take it back several times to fix things - which soured the process.
Once they were paid, their didn't want to know about the issues.
It's working okay now but I wish I did the job myself.
I'll be installing a new wire harness down the track and will re-do the AC wiring and tidy up the ductwork at that time.

Robert
