Thanks for looking.

metalhead:
Did you fit a different system? I'm wondering whether to refurb or replace the AC in my '79.

RHT:
Yes, I had  a fitted Vintage Air system fitted.
Works well but does have some downside:
- No fresh air vent
- Lost the glove box space as the duct piping is bulky.
- Fan is inside the cabin and can be noisy at times, particularly when on high.

metalhead:
Thanks for the info. Was it a generic kit, or a Corvette specific one? Any pics, interior and/or engine bay? Are you using the original Corvette a/c controls? Sorry to derail your for sale thread...

RHT:
The kit was a Vintage Air generic Gen II Mini system.
See photos of the unit tucked up in the passengers side (left side as its a right hook car).
Leg room isn't affected as the unit is tucked up high in the foot well.
They used the controls that came with the unit as it wouldn't work with the original system.
Engine bay is cleaner without the evaporator and fan box in there.

Hope that helps.

Robert
