All those pics of the car look to be taken in the US.  Plus the contact no. is a 1300 number. He has a few other vettes for sale as well.  They certainly look shiny, but I wonder what they are like under the new paint.

I just asked about organising a time to see the car. I wonder what response I'll get?

I asked where abouts in Melbourne it was as I'd like to have a look. He emailed me his mobile number, so nothing firm either way.

I have spoken to this guy on the phone several times and it did not get a good vibe
He supplied (2) references here in Australia but I was unable to reach or get a reply from any of them.

Cars don't appear to move - so its always buyer beware.

Did you end up buying one off him Brad ?

IN reality there is no such thing as a cheap C3
buy one for 5K and you will spend 35k or more and a lot of hours  on it
Buy one for 30k and you would  still spend 10 to 25 K and a good number of hours on it
Is just an matter of choice
or the level of delusion  the buyer is in at the  time of purchase.

There is also the exception of what the buyer wants, a driver  a show car , something in between.
a project  which a lot of C3s are Projects ( never ending  Projects )

How very true Bob.
I have seen and heard them all now after my Car has been for sale recently , they come from all walks of life bearing gifts , trades , swaps and low ball offers

Just like 69VETTE explains with selling his master piece he wont be giving it away - high quality is always going to attract the high prices and rightly so.
GM day next month at Panthers looking forward to that should be a great place to see all the works of art there.

Hello Chris. I feel your pain buddy. The price you have advertised your car for is a bloody good bargain. Be patient. I'm happy to wait cause what people fail to realize is that money for value, what else can you buy?

They just all assume, its a C3 and its only worth X to them. They forget to understand, or realise that its a Corvette, and its not your typical holden or ford which is found on every corner.

Plus its here in NSW and already registered and you don't have to fly around Australia looking at half a dozen before you !make up your mind.

Michael

Very true Michael ... have a look at what i was offered last night ( does make me laugh ) and god bless him for asking.
Two wheels are not my go.

Yours is quality mate it just takes the right buyer at the right time and like me I am in no hurry either.

Cheers Chris

Nice, tell him he can have mine if he's willing to give me the bike pluss $45K my way.. ????hmmmm

Its insane, I know...

I have a few adds on gumtree for some minor stuff I want to move, and everyone who calls or txts you plainly insults you
and only want to give you half of what your asking, never mind, that you already have decided to sell the item for near nothing.

Its the opposite to Ebay, on Gumtree the people just bid lower!...lol

Landed for $15000 sounds cheap and it is, may want to see the title on these (doubt you would ever see it) Salvage titles can not be sold as a on road car in the states and our customs only asks for a bill of sale.He has done his home work have you.
Anyone can bolt on a set of plates to say where you think its from.
Work it out he pays 2 grand throws a couple of thousand at it to make it pretty and sells it of shore nice easy couple of grand.
There is always someone out there looking for the cheap deal and these blokes just love them come in spinner.

Hey Mention1

Yes he is quoting delivered price but be mindful that does not include the following

- GST in Australia on the Bill of Sale Price
- Local Port Clearance and Inspection Fees
- Any additional cleaning / Air Con Gas ( degassed )
- Transport from Docks to holding Yard
- Transport from holding yard to you !

All documentation needs to be spot on ,,,, and another thing he does not advertise the VIN ( which rings alarms bells for me )
Must have a clear title like Ross mentions in the next post ... mmmmmmm would pass on this one don't see to many Cars moving from them ?
