Mecum Auctions will offer nearly 200 Corvettes for sale this week in Indianapolis at their 25th Annual Spring Classic auction. Corvettes make up almost 10% of the expected 2,000 car docket. The event kicked off yesterday with “Super Tuesday” and concludes on Sunday, May 20th. The team at Velocity will provide 32 hours of live auction TV coverage. That’s almost double last year’s coverage. Click past the jump to check out some of the highly desirable Corvettes being offered in Indy.

The Corvette selection at Indy represents examples from all 6 generations of Corvette production and, as usual, they range from original to restored, stock to modified, in addition to some vintage racers. We’ve already told you about the Smokey Yunick racer and the 1972 ZR1 they have available so here’s how the rest of the cars break down according to generation:

Generation & No. of Corvettes
C1 28
C2 50
C3 70
C4 24
C5 12
C6 7

There are numerous rare and highly desirable Corvettes crossing Mecum’s red carpet this week. So many, in fact, that we’re going to do this preview a little differently so we can show you all of the chart toppers. Rather than just spotlight a few of the “must haves” check out our list of heavy hitters by click on the above image and clicking on the Lot number to go straight to the car description on Mecum’s website.
