As clothing goes, can't say I ever liked flares, but a black Corvette w/ flared guards looks mighty horn!!! I am gonna be sad when I finally sell my '79!! All the things I could have done, flares do look cool!!;29

Flares are most definitely on my list, but the question is whether to buy some or make my own. Tmie will tell. As for for the other type of flares.....I thought they went well with my safari jacket.:b2

Once you have flared the guards maybe some wider tyres? :mmm

Most definitely my friend. Looking towards 17" wheels with as wide a stance as I can manage. I already relocated the hand brake cable bracket in readiness for such a move. This is why I'm considering making my own flares so I can adapt them better to the wheels/tyres I choose.

Have you seen the offset control arms for the rear, would they work with the modifications you have already done?

Not anymore. Especially after the modifications I made to them to fit the 6 link additions I designed. Those offset arms only help to fit bigger wheels/tyres inside the guards, not outside as I plan to do in conjunction with the flares.

Do you think a wider wheel base would make a Corvette handle better? I guess coupled with a lower centre of gravity it would have to help, even if it only looks good! And wider rubber, how I love rubber! Ooooh Yeah!!!;eek:22

It all depends where you're wearing it tho.:22:b2:22

Nik

flares rock.

apparantly if u put anything larger than 15 the ride quality is reduced, but of course, these people probably never even bothered with the adjustment of shocks etc. and also probably put low profiles on them

i love my fat tyres though, 15x10s with deep dish rims rock. In au though, the tyres are going to be bloody expensive...

Exactly right Nik, but considering the amount of Ks we put on our cars any tyre will last for years whereas my FWD Holden Vectra is on its second set of rubber in 3 years!:b2
The tyres on my Vette look no worse than they were when I bought it 4+ years ago so I'll get the biggest and best I can afford knowing they'll be there for a long time to come.
