then agian if yer gonna cut anything, then cut a hole in the hood and have a polished 671 blower, with 2 barry grants and the air cleaner of your choice:):):):)now that is TUFF.;40

Gee this poor larry guy has had some run of bad luck.... three engines and a plethora of issues just to have a blown vette.

Hopefully, he is now enjoying the vette, which looks very nice.

Though, would have to agree with MADLT1 on this...  heck a Harrop Blower would have been less probs!

Come on Cam! How can you post this?? We all know deep down you want a blower on Priscilla! And you won't have the master cylinder issues! Bring on the dyno sheets!

I'm working on it.  Weiand 144.  Abouit 1" lower than the old 122.  Injection to save space under hood.  Measurements are close.  We are looking at numbers, air flow curves etc as motor can rev to 7000 but I want go over 6000.  Don't want cavitation problems etc.  Not going to spend bucks if not a HUGE difference in power.  Also got to look at throttle bodies, connecting kick down on auto to throttle etc etc.

Cam,what boost are you looking for? presume you are chasing 600+engine hp and 480rwhp......what sort or torque curve will that give you?....obviously lots, but how flat and from what rpm?;41;41;41;35...john

.........and how long is a piece of string? ;53.  Haven't got those results yet.  Still chasing data and crunching numbers.

Not a lot of boost only around 5-8 pounds.  Not after that much HP.  Haven't dinoed the beast yet but should have about the 400HP at the flywheel now.  Just want to have that little bit more of an edge and that little something different.  It's only a small under bonnet blower. Fitting it under the bonnet is the challenge, and I like a challenge. ;42

Cam,getting enough cool air to it on inlet side will surely be an issue for you...not much room there!!!....getting the increased heat out will also be fun!;35;35;35then once it all goes;46;46;46...how will you control it all at 6500rpm.....will need belt tensioners for when you snap the throttle shut...also wont you have to remap the fuel and ignition for the higer rpm boost?.....lots of tricky issues!....john

Cameron 77C3

Tell me about it.  Hence electronic injection and new ignition system.  There is all the problems to do with throttle cables, belts, Radiator, etc, etc as well.

Have to do it all on paper first to see what it will cost vs what I get out of it.  Not going to spend big bucks for 5/8's of bugger all power increase.

If the numbers do not pan out I might just go for the injection and ignition.

Just playing with it at the present.  I like to do all my numbers first before I jump into the deep end.

How were you planning to lower the static compression into the acceptable range?;47..john

i,m interested in what you find cam ...as i understand it,lowering your existing static comp ratio will lower your current hp output at the same rpm.....you would seem to have to get a largish punch to make up what you lose and to get ahead in the hp stakes...i understand you need a wider LSA on your cam(pardon the intended pun!) and softer ramps on the cam to use the blower properly;54;54;54john

how many horsy's is your beast putting out at the moment?:spook

And in there lays the quandary....... ;58

That's why we are dpoing our numbers first before just jumping into it.  I'll keep ya posted.

Cam, I have been away from the forum for a few weeks [work work work!] So is the 400HP from engine dyno or chassis?? [without my refering to previous post?]
What can you expect after supercharger?
