First off MANY THANKS to AC for giving me a bunch of good tips on this install.  You guys may not know him, he's on another forum.

Now, what a PITA this was, almost everything I did today I was upside down and twisted up like Gumby, damn my back hurts.  It's not a technically hard job at all, it just took some patience and a little thought on how I was going to approach it.  Having done this I now would recommend taking out the seat, it would give you so much more room to work.  I still have to cut the cable and attach it but other than that it's done.  Don't bother trying to take your dash apart to get at the top bolt on the gas pedal bracket...and don't ask how I know this.  I broke the needle off my speedo too so it looks like it's time to upgrade that as well.  I'm off to try to figure out how to print my own money

Looking pretty good Scott. Another one of those well documented efforts we've come to know and love from you. See I can be nice when I try real hard.:b2
What exactly comes in that kit so we can have a better idea of how it might apply to us over here in upside down land?
Thanks Mate.

OK, what did you do with the real Brutus? :22

The cable comes complete as well as the bracket.  The cable comes pretty long so there's plenty of it and you will have to cut it to the size you need.   What you will have to buy extra is 2 1/4x1-1/4 fender washers and drill out the center to 5/16, a set of 2" carb studs.  I wouldn't have a clue how you would install yours on the right side, or even if the cable is long enough to reach from the right side over to the left of the carb.  It wasn't a fun job that's for sure.

How long was the cable as it came in the kit?

I measured from the firewall to the end of the cable then added the part I cut off, comes out to be between 22" and 22 1/2" give or take....that's the braided part, the actual cable itself is probably another 6"

Ok thanks...that gives me something to work with. My cable is too long as it stands now. I checked out the site for those cable brackets, but couldn't work out which applied exactly to a standard Q jet. They're not explained all that clearly.
