:xi got this message today can any one help jim with the purchase of a corvette,i have allready emailed him and told what i thought to look for,but if some one can go and check this vett out with him then that would be cool ........................ Afternoon Glenn,
        I'm going to have a look at a 79 model, and possibly buying, Thursday this week.
Not having previously owned a Corvette, is there anything in particular I should look for?

I have wanted one since the 75 was a new car, time to fulfill that dream & go buy one.  Car is still LHD so I can't register it in that form until late next year, depending on build date.  This doesn't worry me, have other projects + will tidy it up in that time.

If/when I do buy one, I'd be interested in joining the club.  
A Corvette just wouldn't fit with the Dodge Club people, not that I'll ever part with my Dodge.

just found out the car is in melbourne,jim is flying down on thursday,he just wanted to know the common things to look out for on that particular model,it is still lhd and he will be keeping it that way.;54

If your looking at a C3, The first thing look for fiberglass repairs, second look at the rear section of the frame, at the point between the door and the rear tire...noted to rust there...Check block numbers and ID tags...before you go and look, run a ID code and print a list of block numbers from that year...  ;54

I have a spare set of genuine alloy wheels to suit  that I may part with if he is interested.There are 4 of them,no tyres,no wheel nuts,good cond.I don't remember if I have the centers for them will have to have a look.Open to offers.
