It appears it is a similar cam grind, so when the heads come off, I think a new cam will go in. Next million dollar question is what is the maximum compression ratio that can be used on the fuel we get these days? Would 9.5:1 be OK? I believe if alumnium heads are used, it is possible to go a bit higher. And Where's a good place to get a HEI distributor regraphed? The one I have just begs to be set at 12degrees BTDC and the engine revs nice and strong to 5500 rpm, however in the warmer times of the year the motor starts to ping and overheat. In cold weather it is fine, mind you I have disconnected the vacuum advance as it gives too much. I think the main problem here is according to the number on it, it is for a pollution 305 ci motor. The carb I have is also a pollution job too. I think there is meant to be a valve that stops vacuum advance until top gear is achieved. So many questions!!!:{
