Rocker covers

Hi guys
i need to paint my rocket cover for my stingray...just wondering whether any1 out there knows the original colour code that chevrolet used back then

They are known as rocker covers not rocket covers,but as we all know the mighty vette is a quick missile.
oh, no idea on the colour.

orange enamel paint....chevy orange I guess! Covers were painted same colour as the block....(so Im assuming you have a small block with the painted covers?)

1970 - 1972 base engines - rocker covers are stamped steel, painted ORANGE (chevrolet orange):v

thats right...it is kind of Orange colour...i am gona take it to a painter but it would be more convenient if i have a code name or number! i am sure i will find it somewhere on the net

Chevrolet Orange is the name of the paint colour. I guess there are a few Chevrolet Orange paints out there....I don't know the exact code.

its a very well known colour there wont be any probs matching it.

You can buy heat resistant pressure pack cans in chevy orange from most auto parts stores.

Just bumping this thread up...got the  original rocker covers sandblasted...I am just wondering whether someone could help me with the code...The guy who is spraying them told me that no such thing chevy orange...

Can any1 help?

well i should have said...he was aware of the name chevy orange but preferred a code for it ;30

PPG Delstar Chevy Engine Orange, DAR #60524 H Mixing Formula (1 qt, cummulative): DMR 400 4.0 units, DMR 405 160.0 units, DMR 464 660 units, DXR 495 680 units, DMR 499 1250 units, Mix the paint 8:6:1 Delstar/DTR601 Reducer/DXR80 Catalyst and shoot it with a paint gun. If you have a new engine back from the machine shop and it's bare metal, prime the entire engine, block, heads, etc. with PPG DP40LF Epoxy Primer mixed 2:1 with DP402LF Catalyst.
