RADIATORS
« on: July 16, 2005, 05:41:43 PM »
When someone does the right thing by you i believe in returning the favour... so here's a wrap:
My C3's radiator L/H tank cracked at the top radiator hose fitting. On removal i found the core cooling tubes were corroding at the side plates. I got a quote for a new core and tanks to be reconditioned. Shayne reminded me that club member Fred runs a radiator shop...
I gave him a call, gave him the measurements over the phone and took it in to work the next morning.
Fred organised for it to be picked up, and reconditioned it incl. a new core and repaired my heater core too ALL IN ONE DAY. He then packaged it and it arrived via courier at my front door the next day.
Absolutely fantastic service :22 and he looked after me with the cost too, coming in more than TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS cheaper than others i called.
Thankyou very much Fred.
So i can highly recommend Fred's business: SOUTHERN SUBURBS RADIATOR SERVICE.
(his add is in our club magazine too)

Haven't had a look yet mate- doubt it would be a brand new master cylinder sucking air- my guess is the rebuilt calipers. Fred mentioned with my new stainless caliper sleeves i need stainless pistons... my corroded aluminium ones were replaced with new ally ones so maybe wear has produced swarf that has cut the seals... still not sure why there are no external brake fluid leaks yet its let air into the system... must be the chevron (pressure) seals not doing their job. I'll put a post up when i find the prob.:}

I'll have to back up TIPPA's comments.  Every time we have called on Fred for radiator work the service has been above and beyond the call - and always with a smile.
