Hi i have recently bought a c3 corvette and i was wondering if anyone could help me with tracking down the engine number? its had a rebuild and the engine numbers are no longer visible. is there any where you can go to find out what it should be? the vin number on the car is 1Z67T45434561 if anyone could help me that would be great! thanks hope to here from some one.

So its a 74 L82 convertible ? I think the 1st 5 should be an S

Confirm the casting number and date of the block is correct and cast before the build date of the car.

The engine number should be in two separate stamps on the same pad
A partial VIN, usually a smaller font and a suffix code which should start with the plant, date and engine code

There's lots of other sites with similar info, so you should be able to work it out.
