On Saturday afternoon at the Mecum auction in Dallas, Lot #123 – a 1967 L88 Corvette Roadster from the Buddy Herin collection took center stage.
After five minutes of auction banter, the documented 1-20 L88 Corvette Sting Ray became the highest selling Corvette to ever sell at auction with a gavel price of $3.2 million.

Here's the video from of the sale from Mecum Auctions:

67 is the year I wanted a vette  i could not afford one then and still cant now.
3.2m is that plus  fees etc
Any one who spend that much on any car  need some psychological  assessment
in my opinion

My perspective is this
If its worth 3.2m now next year it has to be worth 3.65m another wise it's a bad investment
Compound that for five years see where it will be .
If one can't get in it and trash it around the track it's just a big expensive garden gnome.

Don't worry Jethro I'm a lover at heart also, not a fighter, so I always leave something up the sleeve. You can drive 'em hard without flogging 'em to death!

True, it could very well go down in price but that's the market for ya.

I'm sure the owner is thrilled to bits and that's probably worth 3.2m in his books; if he can throw that sort of money around there probably isn't much else that he hasn't paid for that gets his rocks off as much.
